The Panama Convention Center will be hosting activities like dialogues, photo posters, and presentations led by community members to showcase their research and innovation in sustainability. The program will run from 9:00 to 17:00 on 28 June 2023. 

UTP joins SRI2023 Open Day by hosting scientific exhibitions, tours, and different activities on campus. Starting from 9:00 to 16:00, UTP will be welcoming Open Day participants.

The Punta Culebra Nature Center is a visitor center part of the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute (STRI) located in the Causeway area on the Pacific side of Panama. Punta Culebra is a nature center that highlights tropical biodiversity, STRI science, science education, and conservation through a mix of marine and amphibian exhibits, walking trails, hands-on science activities and recreational spaces. Docent guides are stationed in each of the exhibits and share the science that goes on behind the scenes by Smithsonian scientists in the field and in the laboratories through interpretation, story-telling and inquiry-based engagements with our visitors.

Take a boat ride to Barro Colorado Island and explore the Panamanian Forest. The boat is scheduled to leave at 7:15 on 28 June 2023 from Gamboa 

Visit Museo del Canal and learn the history of the Panama Canal through the years. The Museum will be open to all SRI2023 Open Day participants on 28 June 2023 from 9:00 to 18:00 free of charge with proof of this registration

Enter the UTP Interpretive Trails, within the Camino de Cruces Natural Park, and learn about the living laboratory and about the capabilities of tropical urban forests to protect sustainability. There is a $5 fee to reserve your spot.
